If you need to install one of our grilles, please bear in mind that it is a strong yet delicate material.
They can be used as:
- Air vents.
- Drains.
- Smoke and steam outlets.
- Hot air outlets for fireplaces and stoves.
- Water spouts and fountains.
- Facade decoration.
- Interior wall and ceiling decoration.
- Concealing utility boxes and appliances de cualquier tipo.
Any use you can imagine — we have even used them as trivets!
Installation instructions:
Once you have chosen the shape and size of the grille, here are our recommendations:
Step one: planning
Hold the grille against the desired space and mark the outline on the wall with a pencil or marker. If possible, create a small recess in the surface between 0.5 and 2 cm deep (depending on the size of the grille), so that it sits flush with the wall without being fully embedded.
We believe the grilles look best when installed with a slight relief, although they can also be installed flush.
Step two: fixing
Since our grilles are made from fired clay, they can be fixed to any type of surface (brick, concrete, plaster, cement, stone, plasterboard, wood, metal, etc.).
In most cases they are installed on brick, cement or plaster, so we recommend using tile adhesive suited to the surface and environment. (We recommend flexible outdoor tile adhesive.) Soak the grille in water for two minutes and then let it drain so the adhesive bonds better.
They can also be installed using screws so they can be removed when needed. For this option, drill small holes in the grille with a masonry bit just wide enough for the screw (never use the drill in hammer mode, as this could break the grille).
